A Factory’s Closing Focuses Attention on Tort Reform

A gasoline manufacture in Oklahoma because of bankruptcies and abusive lawsuit.
The lawsuit claims that the gas cans were defective of causing explosions by leaking gas vapors
that ignites from the outside and followed the vapors back to the containers or know as "Flash Back". Dozens of people have reported injuries leading back to this product. Apparently these explosions are very powerful, just two gallons can produce a flame jet 13 ft. long tested by a  federal fire research laboratory and two emergencies workers have said to have heard the explosion from more than two miles away.
The Blitz company has been sued about 62 times but only 2 cases have actually made it to court. In one case a father, David Calder, was starting a fire in a wood-burning stove in his trailer home by pouring gasoline on the flames. The flames traveled back into the container causing it to explode resulted in the death of his 2 year old daughter. This happened because the can was unequipped with a flame arrester.
As of now the company is closing because of tort reform. In doing this, there will be 117 people without a job which would cause a drastic change in our economy. Less money would be spent, taxes won't be paid, and people will be forced to move.
